1990 Reunion May 25, 26, 27 Registration - $10
The main thing the 1990 reunion will be remembered for is, We ran out of food! Folks began rolling into town Friday to register at City Hall where a big crowd gathered to visit, reminisce and greet old friends. J.P. Randall chaired the Ice Cream Social hosted by The Chamber of Commerce in City Park where a large crowd gathered to enjoy homemade ice cream, lots of visiting and the music of the members of The Clark County Music Association. Tom Berryman hosted a gathering at the Opera House where the band "Justice" provided music as visiting continued into the night. Saturday, the VFW Auxiliary served breakfast and several businesses were open to welcome visitors who gathered downtown to watch The Great Race. A special treat was the quilt show sponsored by the "Bowling Sisters" and their daughters using quilts made by each of them through the years. That evening the High School gymnasium was packed with grads and friends who attended the first All School Reunion Banquet that was catered by the Sitka Social Club. Chairs and tables were brought in from every place in Ashland, Protection and Minneola to seat the crowd. President Kim Hazen presided over the business meeting as those present voted to hold a reunion every five years, elected new reunion committee members and recognized all those attending who graduated in the 1920's. Sunday many attended the open house at the Ashland Grade School and the Memorial Service conducted by the Ministerial Alliance. The first reunion was a success! The weather was delightful, and the special memories of those who made the journey home made the weekend an extraordinary experience in Ashland.
